The Chicago Bears kicked off week 10 with a Thursday Night Football game on Amazon Prime, so they were off this past weekend. They won by three points over the Carolina Panthers in that game. The Panthers are obviously terrible, so this three-point victory means virtually nothing.
Due to the trade the two teams made prior to the 2023 draft, the Chicago Bears will receive the Panthers’ first-round pick in 2024. With a record of 1-8, it appears they have a decent chance of finishing last in the league and giving the Bears the first overall pick.
The Bears would have two picks in the top five if the season ended today since their original pick would have been fifth overall. They could utilise that in the future to improve their franchise. They’ll have access to some incredible talent.
Some may have abstained from football in general this weekend due to the absence of Bears football. But some of us didn’t even miss a beat. Without the Bears playing, it was just as fun to watch the college slate on Saturday and the professional slate on Sunday.
If the Chicago Bears play wisely, they should have a successful off-season
The Saturday night matchup between Michigan State and Ohio State was one that Bears supporters might be quite enthused about. A nighttime game between two BIG rivals took place. Nobody was surprised by the Buckeyes’ 38-3 thumping of the Spartans.
But Marvin Harrison Jr. was the game’s main story. He is a fantastic wide receiver who nearly always makes big plays in games that he participates in. Harrison Jr. hauled in seven receptions for 149 yards during this crucial victory over MSU.
Harrison Jr. made it to the end zone on two of the seven grabs, scoring a touchdown. Due to his massive point scoring contribution, they were able to win handily. At this point, Ohio State is 10-0 and ought to be the top-ranked squad on Tuesday.
Harrison Jr. will be selected in the top five of the NFL Draught in 2024. The Chicago Bears must make every effort to acquire this player. Harrison Jr. must be present at that event even though they will most likely use a pick on a quarterback.
The offence might be quite strong in 2024 if they have a strong quarterback who can find Harrison Jr. and DJ Moore on the other side. They would benefit greatly from such a move, so we’ll see whether they can pull it off.
