Pep Guardiola, the manager of Manchester City, has asked detractors to give Manchester United coach Erik ten Hag the freedom to perform his job.
In contrast to Pep Guardiola and his squad, who have enjoyed a string of victories, coach Ten Hag has had difficulties, particularly this year.
Manchester United has only achieved five victories and an incredible four losses in just nine Premier League games. They are sit ninth in the league table with 15 points after 9 games, 11 points behind leaders Tottenham Hotspur, as a result of their awful performance.
The majority of United’s supporters are already calling for Ten Hag to leave Old Trafford due to the team’s patchy play.
Coach Pep Guardiola, on the other hand, thinks Ten Hag’s United can still contend for the league championship.
Coach Guardiola declared: “Nine games!” prior to the first Manchester United derby of the 2023–2024 campaign. Merely nine! Four, five, or six games in a row can be won by United. They’ll be winning when they accomplish that. They will be present. Give it time. Allow the manager to carry out their duties.
“Man United is still always on the highlights when something happens.”
Pep Guardiola has stated that his squad would not give up on being the best in the league, even if they are now in third place in the league standings with 21 points from 9 games.
Remember that last season, Guardiola’s City became the first team in English football history to win the Premier League, FA Cup, and Champions League in the same season that Sir Alex Ferguson’s United did.
Football fans are tuning in to witness whether Guardiola and his team will try to recreate their historic performance this season or if it was an anomaly.
“Now that Man City is a reality, we want to stay at the top level as long as possible,” Guardiola stated. We will not give up.
Maybe the reason it feels awkward is that, although we were not elite before, we are now. It might not be comfortable. However, we intend to be there going forward. We were there, and we are there now.
Pep Guardiola and his team will be at Old Trafford for the Manchester derby later tonight, October 29, at 4:30 p.m. If City wins 4-0, they might move up to the second position in the league table based on goals differential.
