Due to his significance at Liverpool and his early contribution to the English squad, striker Luis Diaz has emerged as the Colombian player of the year. His admirers have become close to him very rapidly. Lucho joined Liverpool in January 2022 and has a contract that runs until 2027. The CIES Football Obs estimates that a team would need to pay about 110 million euros to sign the Colombian at the beginning of the 22–23 season.
The amount is thought to be around 75 million euros, but it is likely to have dropped. Given Xavi Hernandez’s Barcelona’s previous history of severe financial difficulties, this amount seems unachievable. Although the interest of both parties is 100% genuine, various sources affirm that the transfer of the Colombian to the Catalan team is “improbable” because the team would not have the financial means to pay for it.
Both parties would like to cross paths in Spain, but it looks like we will have to wait a few more seasons. Lucho Diaz was in the middle of an interview when he was still playing for Junior, confessing his desire to play for Barcelona and expressing some sympathy for the Spanish team.
Luis Diaz will remain in Liverpool
After playing the final ten minutes, Luis DĂaz was overshadowed by his teammate Mohamed Salah, who scored a brace to go up to the top of the Premier League scoring lists. The Egyptian scored 149 goals in the Premier League of England. With 10 goals in 12 games so far this season, he is only one goal behind the league’s top scorer, Ernst Haaland. Salah scored 149 goals and is currently tied for 11th place with Les Ferdinand in the Premiership’s all-time goalscoring rankings, which are topped by Alan Shearer with 260 goals. He needs one more to tie Michael Owen’s record of 150. Sergio AgĂĽero’s 184 is still not in the top five, but he has time and a team on his side. Diaz is quite the mate.
