NFL Week 10 APC Picks: Cowboys are favoured versus Giants by a massive 17 points.
The FOX game of the week will also have the largest point spread of the season.
It makes sense that FOX would want to broadcast this week’s New York Giants vs. Dallas Cowboys game extensively given the team’s early season. A year earlier, both clubs qualified for the postseason; in fact, they prevailed in their Wild Card playoff meetings, with the Giants defeating the Minnesota Vikings and Dallas defeating Tampa Bay. In addition, the NFC East rivalry always manages to get a prime TV spot for these clubs’ games.
However, since the conclusion of the previous campaign, the two teams have taken drastically different paths. The Giants are currently 2-7 and using a third-string quarterback, while the Cowboys, who are 5-3, are still a strong contender in the NFC. With Tyrod Taylor on injured reserve due to a rib ailment and Daniel Jones having ruptured his ACL, the Giants will start youngster Tommy DeVito, an undrafted Illinois native. In the first week, Dallas also crushed the Giants 40-0, even though New York was playing at full strength.
Because of these factors, the Cowboys are favoured by an astounding 17 points in Sunday’s game, which is poised to have the largest point spread of any NFL match this season. Does that suffice? The writers at APC attempted to determine that in selecting all of the league’s week 10 games.
In the meanwhile, the 5-3 Steelers will face the Green Bay Packers in Pittsburgh as three-point underdogs. In their 20-3 victory over the undermanned Los Angeles Rams last week, the Packers easily covered a 4-point spread; however, facing the sly Steelers defence will present a far different task.
