Lynch and Williams commend Jaylon Moore’s recent performance.
In a media conference, 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan talks about Trent Williams’ Sunday availability.
Jaylon Moore’s play at left tackle while Trent Williams has been out due to an ankle injury sustained during the 49ers’ Week 6 defeat to the Cleveland Browns is one bright spot from the team’s current three-game losing run.
Following Friday’s workout, Williams said he was pleased with Moore’s development since he was put on the first team.
In the 49ers locker room, Williams told reporters, “I think Jaylon’s played his butt off.” “His performance has really, really, really impressed me.” Naturally, I’ve been watching him attentively the past few games, and I’m incredibly happy with the progress he’s made from the previous season to this one, even from the preseason to now. He describes his findings. He is undoubtedly a young, developing athlete. If he had to do it over, I would have a lot of faith in him.”
General manager John Lynch shared the praise for Moore during a recent appearance on KNBR’s “The Murph and Mac Show,” pointing out how important his versatility and development are for the 49ers.
Lynch remarked, “He really did a great job.” “You want to watch your young players grow and improve. That credit must first and foremost go to Jaylon. We do emphasise adaptability on our offensive line. Jaylon seems like a man with that kind of adaptability. He can play both left and right tackle as a swing tackle. He can enter and act as the guard as well.”
Pro Football Focus reports that Moore, who has started the last two games at left tackle, has excelled in pass protection, allowing only three pressures in total on 74 pass-blocking attempts against the Cincinnati Bengals and Minnesota Vikings.
