San Antonio Spurs C Victor Wembanyama to star in Barcode Beverage’s first commercial
C SpursBarcode Beverages has released their debut commercial, which features Victor Wembanyama. The official 30-second fitness water commercial will debut tomorrow, just in time for the Spurs’ game at MSG versus the Knicks. In the advertisement, Wembanyama is heard speaking French over a compilation of significant events that culminated in his selection as the first overall pick in this year’s NBA Draft.
Produced in association with Cooper Davis of Gunn Productions, the advertisement will run for ninety days through geo-targeted ad buys in New York, California, and Texas on a variety of streaming platforms, including Peacock, ESPN, NBC, and Hulu. The business already has a retail presence in those states. The company was adamant that the advertisement appear during non-NBA events in order to reach a diverse customer base, as indicated by Barcode Founder & CEO Mubarak Malik.
Malik thinks it was the proper decision to make Wembanyama the main subject of the business’s debut advertisement. Malik stated of using the young sensation, Wembanyama, “It made sense for us as an emerging brand and at this massive inflection point on the distribution side of the house.” Wembanyama has already made a splash in his first few weeks in the NBA. It also makes sense if we consider cultivating brand loyalty for the business. Whether you play hoops or not, there is something fresh and appealing about Victor.

A second advertisement is already being planned; it will be filmed during the All-Star break in February and released soon after. According to Malik, Barcode anticipates growing its sales in its present territories and believes that the Wembanyama advertisement will make it easier for bigger distributors to enter the US market through retailers like Target, Costco, and Walmart.
