A reputed transfer target for Liverpool has been named by Lionel Messi as the world’s top young potential.
Messi was named the world’s best player for the 2022–2023 season after winning his seventh Ballon d’Or title.
The Kopa Trophy, which honours the best young player of the season, was also given out during the ceremony on Monday night. Even though Jude Bellingham, a former target for Liverpool, won out in the end, journalist Fabrizio Romano disclosed on Twitter that Messi didn’t initially cast his vote for the Englishman.
Rather, the legend of Argentina declared Jamal Musiala, a purported Reds target, the best young player in the world.
Liverpool has been mentioned as a possible surprise suitor for Musiala come summertime. The whispers persist even if the Bayern Munich player doesn’t seem interested in moving to Anfield.
Messi’s admission of his developing skill is further proof that the Reds should do every effort to make this happen.
Messi hails Musiala
The intensity of the rumours that Liverpool is trying to sign Musiala lately has been surprising .
It doesn’t seem like a chase Liverpool will prevail in, though, much as Bellingham’s protracted tale did to many.
It’s unknown why Musiala might depart Bayern. He is in the best position he could be in as a Germany international.
The 20-year-old may not be the team’s main player just yet, but he will undoubtedly get to the top. He doesn’t have to go anywhere.

From the perspective of the German champion, why would they allow him as well? In addition to Messi’s nod, Musiala has received a lot of praise. He was dubbed a “phenomenal” player by Jurgen Klinsmann [The Daily Mail], and he has received much more praise. A player like that is not one to be ignored.
Still, there are rumours circulating.
Given his high profile, it would seem likely that Musiala, should he ever decide to leave Bayern, would be joining either Real Madrid or Manchester City.
However, Liverpool may still believe they have a chance, just as they did with Bellingham. However, Musiala will continue to receive recognition wherever he ends up.
