This summer, Liverpool was among the teams attempting to recruit Daichi Kamada on a free transfer.
As Kamada got ready to leave Eintracht Frankfurt at the end of the season, the Reds were connected to him. The Japanese finally transferred to Lazio even though it appeared that he was going to join AC Milan.
Furthermore, his representative stated that other parties were also interested in the two Italian sides. Gianluca Di Carlo stated this week in an interview with Sport Italia that Liverpool was also interested in Kamada.
According to Di Carlo, “many clubs, including Milan, Liverpool, Benfica, and Real Sociedad, had gone for the player, who was on a free transfer.”
“I understand that the agreements that had been struck were no longer referenced, as the Rossoneri underwent a management transition.
Lazio saw through all of this, and the entourage took to the theory right away. Not without a lot of clubs getting involved. However, we are discussing a player who, in a normal situation, would have been valued at €27–28 million, or roughly £24 million.
Liverpool loses the Kamada chase.
It seems odd that Liverpool would actually want to sign Kamada, even with his agency being so open.
He proved he was a solid player last season in the Bundesliga for Frankfurt, recording a very respectable nine goals and six assists.
You can understand why so many clubs were looking to snag a deal when a player was available for free.
However, Kamada’s style of sluggish attacking midfielder simply doesn’t match what Liverpool was searching for. He is a far more inventive midfielder than Liverpool usually uses.

Still, it was obvious the Reds were looking to buy in the Bundesliga. They do have a history of surprising players, so maybe there’s more to it than that.
In any case, we don’t believe Liverpool will be too upset with themselves for losing out on Wataru Endo’s international partner.
So far in Serie A, he has only managed one goal and one assist for Lazio, despite not being a consistent starter.
Although the 27-year-old will undoubtedly become better as the season progresses, we’re okay with Liverpool losing this match.
