Liverpool and the £35 million star have “verbally agreed personal terms”
Fluminense midfielder André Trindade has apparently “verbally agreed personal terms” with the Reds after confessing that he wanted to join a big club, presumably Liverpool, during the summer transfer window.
Since the summer, Jurgen Klopp has placed the Brazilian at the center of his search for a new defensive midfield player. However, it appears that the 22-year-old is getting closer to joining Anfield than ever.
According to a recent interview, Andre desired to sign for Liverpool in the summer.
Although it has been widely reported that Luminense barred Andre from joining Liverpool, they will be open to doing business in the January transfer window after their season is over.
Midway through December, the Brazilian season comes to a conclusion, coinciding with the winter transfer window. But Andre’s summertime goal was to sign with Liverpool.
Speaking to CONMEBOL Libertadores through the Mirror, Andre at last spoke up on what happened during the summer when Liverpool showed interest.
“I didn’t talk about [a transfer exit] in this previous window; this is the first time I’m going to talk about it in more detail,” he stated. It was, in fact, an unquestionable offer from the major league team.
Every player, in my opinion, hopes to play in a major league in Europe for a prestigious club at some point. However, I made the decision to honor my promise because [Fernando] Diniz, the manager of Fluminense, showed up after the January window closed and informed me that he wanted me to stay until the end of the year. We had no idea that a proposition that size would come up, and I assured him that I would stay until the conclusion of the season, no matter what.
“It finally passed and arrived in the middle of the year, while we were still in the Copa Libertadores round of sixteen.” It was an extremely tough choice to make. Since I had previously given my consent to Diniz, I’m not sure if I would have been completely at ease if I had accepted this proposition.
“He truly respects honesty and keeping his word. I am aware that positive things always come from doing the right things. And back in January, he assured me that if I stayed, I would definitely gamble and my value would rise.”
If a recent claim is true, it could not be long before he gets his dream.
Apparently, Liverpool and Andre have reached a personal terms agreement.
Although Francois Plateau clarifies that “nothing has been signed” and that Fluminense is in contact with other clubs, he claims that Liverpool and Andre have achieved a verbal understanding over a contract.
He first reported on Twitter, saying: “It’s confirmed that André Trindade and Liverpool have verbally agreed on personal terms.
He tweeted again shortly after, saying, “No formal agreements have been signed. Representatives from Fluminense and Trindade are also in contact with a few clubs, but at this point, no further details can be given.”
According to recent coverage by Anfield Central, Arsenal is among the teams interested in signing Andre. During a recent trip to his native Brazil, the sporting director of the Gunners visited Fluminense among other Brazilian clubs.
Whoever signs Andre will have to pay about €40 million (£35 million), although Arsenal’s interest may drive up Fluminense’s asking price if they think they can make more money off of his sale given the competition from two powerful Premier League teams for his signature.
