When Liverpool travels to Bournemouth in the Carabao Cup final 16, they’ll be looking to make it four straight victories across all competitions.
Jurgen Klopp, the manager of the Reds, will probably make changes for the match, as he usually does in domestic cup events.
With Liverpool competing on four fronts right now, Klopp will have to adjust his player selection accordingly.
Luke Chambers will take Kostas Tsimikas’ place at left back for the Reds on their trip to the south coast.
Andrew Robertson’s injury will need careful management of the left-back position. Fortunately for Klopp, Tsimikas and Chambers are two of the best players available at that position.
Liverpool has a rising star in Chambers.
After making an impression in the youth setup, Chambers is the most recent Liverpool academy product to make it into the starting lineup.
In September, the 19-year-old earned his senior Reds debut in the Carabao Cup against Leicester. Then, in the Europa League match against Toulouse, he made his debut.
Chambers had a respectable debut, looking the part as Liverpool destroyed the opposition that evening.
To be honest, he was a little taken aback by the visitors’ goal. He moved forward to assist the attack, though, and was strong all around.
“He’s very talented.”
After the match, Trent Alexander-Arnold, a star for Liverpool, praised Chambers in an interview with TNT Sports via Goal.com.
He declared: “He’s been exceptional each and every time. He’s put in all the hard work and showed himself.
“He plays amazing football and has been a part of the squad both on and off the field.
“He’s a truly amazing player with a ton of potential. It’s amazing to see him out there.”
“He performed really well out there, showed a great deal of maturity, and helped us win big.”
It’s not easy to get senior playing time for a club like Liverpool while you’re still a teenager and in competition.
If Chambers keeps going in this direction, he might follow Alexander-Arnold’s path to stardom.
