Lakers News: Before tonight’s game, a Sixers veteran criticizes Anthony Davis
In this story:
Your Los Angeles Lakers are set to take on the Philadelphia 76ers for the first of two meetings and their only visit to the Wells Fargo Center.
LA is coming off a great win on Saturday and will look for their fourth road win of the season and their 11th overall. However, it won’t be easy as they will face the reigning NBA MVP, Joel Embiid. It is a highly anticipated matchup between Embiid and Lakers star center Anthony Davis.
All eyes will be on that matchup, but overall, this game just got a bit juicer thanks to the comments by 76ers veteran big man Paul Reed. In the morning shoot around, Reed took a shot at Davis, calling the Laker big man a “flopper.”
Reed has to be joking, right? Yes, AD falls on his butt more times than not, but it’s warranted and never to get a reaction or a call from an official. Now, if you want to talk about flopping, Reed can look no further than his superstar teammate in Embiid.
Embiid is a fabulous player, but he is also notorious for his ability to flop and react flamboyantly to get a call in his favor. Just take a look at a video of Embiid doing his best Oscar impression in one game.
You can call AD many things, but the last thing he is is a flopper. It’s not to bring Embiid down, but for Reed to say that about Davis is flat-out wrong.
