The Georgia Bulldogs are in the top two in the race for the No. 1 quarterback in the 2026 class, and they are trying everything possible to ensure they do not end up in second place. Nashville Christian signal-caller Jared Curtis was once committed to the Bulldogs, only to walk back that decision, leaving Georgia in a battle with the Oregon Ducks, who have focused on Curtis after four-star quarterback flipped to the USC Trojans.
Per Rivals’ Adam Gorney, the feeling is that the Ducks are now in the driver’s seat for Curtis, but the Bulldogs are very much not giving up hope. Curtis, per On3, has a NIL valuation of $2.8 million, and Gorney reports that a substantial offer may be coming his way in an attempt to lure him to Athens.
Gorney writes: “There are some sources who believe Georgia will not only not stop recruiting Curtis hard but that there is a favorable NIL package coming his way that could keep him in the Southeast that could entice Curtis to stay closer to home and play for the SEC power.
“Another selling point: Georgia could absolutely load up with playmakers and pass-catchers in this recruiting cycle with four-star receiver Vance Spafford and four-star tight end Lincoln Keyes already committed and then the Dawgs look strong for Mark Bowman, Kaiden Prothro and many others.
“Some believe Oregon will land Curtis and that could certainly happen but Georgia remains strong for numerous reasons in this recruitment.” This year, Gunner Stockton is expected to win a quarterback competition with Ryan Puglisi to claim the starting job for 2025. But, if the Bulldogs do upset the odds and land Curtis, their future at the game’s most important position will be much more exciting.
