Tyreek Hill Send Warning Message to Dolphins’ Owner Owner amid…
In case you missed it — during a Week 2 Thursday Night Football, AFC East showdown against the Buffalo Bills, Dolphins star quarterback, Tua Tagovailoa went down with a scary concussion. Tagovailoa clashed with Bills safety, Damar Hamlin, and was quickly ruled out of the remainder of the game. The former Alabama star suffered his fourth confirmed concussion dating back to his time in Tuscaloosa with the Crimson Tide. The 2020 fifth-overall pick’s latest head injury was the talk of the sports world between weeks two and three, as many analysts and former NFL players calling for the former Pro Bowler to prioritize his long-term well-being and step away from football.
The most adamant former player-turned analyst calling for Tagovailoa to consider retirement was former New York Jets and Baltimore Ravens linebacker, Bart Scott. The former Pro Bowl defender opened up for the first-time on his own retirement, something many believed was due to his longtime issues with his feet, however, Scott admitted it had to due with him seeing ‘spots’ and ‘lights’ during his final few seasons.
Despite many calling for him to call it a career, Tagovailoa reportedly never truly considered hanging up his helmet. NFL insider, Jordan Schultz confirmed as much as well as being the first to report that Tagovailoa was zeroing in on Week 8’s showdown with the Arizona Cardinals as being the target date in his return to the field.
During Tagovailoa’s recovery, perennial All-Pro wideout, Tyreek Hill hasn’t put up the video-game numbers he’s accustomed to. However, with the Dolphins QB1 ready to return to the field, the dynamic playmaker is more than excited to reunite with Tagovailoa, something Hill says his fantasy managers should be thrilled about.
“We’re back, baby! Strike up the f****** band! Start me this week!,” Hill excitedly told reporters.
Meanwhile, the Dolphins have struggled mightily in Tagovailoa’s absence. Miami turned to Skylar Thompson and Tyler Huntley following Tagovailoa’s injury. Thompson was injured during his first start of the season for the Dolphins in Week 3, and hasn’t touched the field since exiting their loss against the Seahawks due to a chest injury. The ‘Phins signed former Pro Bowl quarterback and longtime Baltimore Ravens backup QB, Tyler Huntley to the practice squad. Huntley would eventually be signed to the active roster and has been under center for Miami’s past three games, where the club went 1-2. The Dolphins leaned on the running game to squeak out a 15-10 victory against the New England Patriots, which was sandwiched between losses against the Tennessee Titans and most recently, the Indianapolis Colts in Week 7.
Hill, Tua, and the Dolphins look to get back on track when they play host for a Week 8 showdown with the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday afternoon (1:00 pm EDT/10:00 am PDT) on FOX.
