PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Steelers have ruled out seven players against the Dallas Cowboys. Among them are two key running backs, Jaylen Warren and Cordarrelle Patterson. They will miss this game with knee and ankle injuries, respectively.
As a result, the Steelers have elevated running back Jonathan Ward from their practice squad. He and Aaron Shampklin will get more work this week with the injuries, while Najee Harris starts.
Outside linebacker Alex Highsmith and tight end MyCole Pruitt remain sidelined. Nick Herbig will get his second straight start on the outside. However, the Steelers will have Jeremiah Moon to bring some help this time around. He was activated off injured reserve after missing the first four weeks with an ankle injury.
Newly signed offensive lineman Max Scharping is inactive on the interior with the return of starting left guard Isaac Seumalo. Calvin Anderson is quite new at offensive tackle but will play.
Meanwhile, rookie wide receiver Roman Wilson is inactive for another week as he ramps up from a high ankle sprain. The Steelers made quarterback Russell Wilson the emergency third quarterback as he recovers from a calf injury. Kyle Allen will be the backup to the starter, Justin Fields.
For the Cowboys, they will be without star pass rusher Micah Parsons. Starting cornerback Trevon Diggs, who was questionable with an ankle injury, will play.
