Pittsburgh Steelers’ T.J Watt Fall in…
The Pittsburgh Steelers fell short of their fourth victory of the year, finding their first defeat of the season to the Indianapolis Colts, falling 27-14. A series of mistakes and missed opportunities left Pittsburgh with a 3-1 record and looking to bounce back as they prepare for a Week 5 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys.
In their defeat, the Steelers struggled to contain the Colts, including Joe Flacco, who made his first appearance of the season following an early exit by starting quarterback Anthony Richardson. Flacco proved difficult to stop on third downs, where the Colts converted eight of 15 attempts. Pittsburgh’s defense, which had been the best in the league on third downs entering the game, was unexpectedly vulnerable in critical moments.
The Steelers’ offense also faced its own challenges. Quarterback Justin Fields led a second-half rally but was derailed by a pair of crucial fumbles. The most costly came from wide receiver George Pickens inside the Colts’ 5-yard line, preventing what could have been a game-changing touchdown. Fields, while solid overall, had a sack-fumble in the third quarter that swung momentum back in Indianapolis’ favor.
Despite the loss, the Steelers only dropped one spot in the NFL Power Rankings, now sitting at No. 10. Pittsburgh remains in the top 10, clinging to their position as they enter Week 5.
Now, the Steelers turn their attention to a Cowboys team dealing with significant injuries and relying on rookies along the offensive line. Dallas has leaned heavily on quarterback Dak Prescott and wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, with their run game yet to find its footing.
Pittsburgh’s defense, led by T.J. Watt, will look to capitalize on Dallas’ weakened offense and get back on track after their first defeat of the season. With a tough matchup ahead, the Steelers will aim to prove they still belong among the league’s elite and keep their playoff aspirations alive.
