PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh Steelers running back Najee Harris suffered an apparent arm injury during the team’s 20-10 win over the Los Angeles Chargers. The team’s starting running back was seen wearing a sling around his right arm in the locker room following the win.
The severity of Harris’ injury is unknown, but backup running back Jaylen Warren received an MRI on his knee after he was injured in the same game. That means the Steelers are down their top two running backs, and if neither can play, Cordarrelle Patterson might be in line for the starting role.
Harris ran hard throughout the game, racking up 70 yards on 18 carries. It is unclear when the injury happened in the game. The Steelers will head to Indianapolis to face the 1-2 Colts in another road clash. Having Harris or Warren would be extremely important with the Colts’ leaky run defense.
His prognosis will be talked about throughout the week. Head coach Mike Tomlin speaks on Tuesday at noon and will have an update on Harris’ status.
