Andrew Luck agrees deal to Return as the Miami Dolphins Quarterback
The most underrated quarterback in NFL history, Andrew Luck retired early, only after playing five healthy seasons for the Indianapolis Colts. Due to the concussions, ankle problems, and a torn labrum, it was too much on his body to keep playing then. However, the 35-year-old quarterback without a doubt has some juice left in the tank and suits up for the Dolphins for the rest of the season after the recent injury to Tua Tagovailoa. I pray for the best, but we could unfortunately see an early retirement from him.
The former first overall pick in 2012 from Stanford had nothing but a great career for the Colts. Luck was a Four-Time Pro Bowler and finished his short career with 23,671 yards, and 171 touchdowns with a 60.8% career passing percentage. His best season came in 2014 when Luck finished with 40 touchdowns and lost to the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship. With a healthy Luck, the Colts went to the playoffs four times winning multiple games. Andrew Luck is a winner, unfortunately, he had to play against Tom Brady and Peyton Manning so he could never get to the Super Bowl. Lucky for the Dolphins, they are long gone.
Sure, there is an injury history for Andrew Luck. He missed the entire 2017 season with a shoulder injury to his throwing shoulder. However, that following year he won AP Comeback Player of the Year. If he took a year off and went on to lead the Colts to the playoffs, imagine what he could do after resting his body for four years.
According to PFF, the Miami Dolphins have the 18th-ranked best offensive line in the NFL. This was better than any offensive line Andrew Luck had when he was in Indianapolis, as they consistently were ranked one of the worst offensive lines in the NFL at a consistent rate. With tackles like Five-Time Pro Bowler Terron Armstead and an underrated guy in Austin Jackson, they would do a great job protecting Luck.
Most of these guys who play for the Dolphins will get the best quarterback they have ever had on their team. Andrew Luck will have weapons all over the field along with head coach Mike McDaniel, who is an offensive mastermind. This whole acquisition boils down to whether the Dolphins are willing to take a risk on a guy who has been out of the league for a couple of years. I know that these fans in Miami would love a guy who is a winner and could bring them to the Super Bowl. There will never be a situation like the one in Indianapolis, where Luck was booed off the field when he retired early.
