Another Five-Star Kentucky Commit Plans to Re-Open Recruitment After John Calipari Departure
Boogie Fland, another of Kentucky men’s basketball’s top targets for the Class of 2024, intends to reopen his recruitment and withdraw his national sign of intent from the Wildcats program, according to a Monday On3 story.
The five-star guard is now the fourth high-profile recruit to withdraw from Kentucky’s program since head coach John Calipari left to take a job in Arkansas last week. This coming season, BYU coach Mark Pope will take over the program.
On October 20, Fland made his first commitment to Kentucky. Alabama and Indiana are a couple of the programs who recruited him. He is the top-ranked point guard in the class and is ranked No. 19 in the Class of 2024, per On3’s rankings.
Jayden Quaintance, a five-star forward, Karter Knox, a four-star forward, and Somto Cyril, a four-star center, are the three former players that withdrew their desire to attend Kentucky. Aaron Bradshaw, a freshman from Kentucky, likewise declared his intention to use the transfer portal.
