Jon Feliciano Carries Career Ending injury vs Chiefs in Super Bowl LVIII
As the fourth quarter was about to begin, the San Francisco 49ers witnessed an important offensive player fall down with an injury. Starting right guard Jon Feliciano was being examined for an injury late in the third quarter of Super Bowl LVIII against the Kansas City Chiefs.
On a first-and-10 play with 2:28 remaining in the quarter, Feliciano was injured when Brock Purdy was attempting to throw to Brandon Aiyuk. Feliciano stepped into the 49ers training staff’s blue sideline tent to receive additional care.
Spencer Burford took Feliciano’s spot in the offensive line.
Feliciano has played for several teams over the past ten or so years after being selected by the Oakland Raiders in the fourth round of the 2015 NFL Draft.
He joined with the 49ers this summer after spending years with the Raiders and Bills, and he has started seven games at the position this season. Over his nine years in the NFL, he has participated in 113 games.
