Spencer Dinwiddie Discusses Potential Return to Los Angeles
If you are a basketball fan from Woodland Hills, California, you probably grew up cheering for the Lakers. It’s safe to say that it is the most likely team for a person, though obviously not always.
It would mean everything to guard Spencer Dinwiddie to be able to wear a Lakers jersey. And now there’s a chance that it might at last materialize.
In search of roster support, the Lakers are now focusing on the buyout market after holding out until the trade deadline. Dinwiddie would be a huge asset to the team and appears to be one of their top targets to sign.
Los Angeles needs another guard in their rotation, and Dinwiddie was released after being traded to the Toronto Raptors. The two sides could come together, and it seems that Dinwiddie isn’t against the idea.
He liked a tweet referring to the Lakers bringing him in for the rest of the season.
The veteran point guard has averaged 12.6 points, 3.3 rebounds and 6.6 assists per game with the Brooklyn Nets. He wouldn’t solve all the issues that plague the Lakers, but he could help ease some problems.
Los Angeles would also be getting a likely motivated Dinwiddie with him coming back home. If he played well, it could turn into a potential long-term pairing for both sides.
This is a move that could very likely happen, and the Lakers could do a lot worse than adding a solid backup point guard like Dinwiddie. The team has some work to do to become real contenders, but with a good bill of health, anything is possible.
