Report: Lakers Signed Spencer Dinwiddie
Los Angeles is where Dinwiddie was born and reared. His childhood idol was Kobe Bryant of the Lakers.
Dinwiddie will pique the curiosity of the Dallas Mavericks, New Orleans Pelicans, and Philadelphia 76ers in addition to the Lakers. The seasoned player formerly played for the Mavericks.
Dinwiddie is shooting 39.1% from the field, 32.0% from beyond the arc, and 78.1% from the free-throw line this season while averaging 12.6 points, 3.3 rebounds, 6.0 assists, 0.8 steals, and 0.2 blocks.
The Lakers’ record during the season is 27–25. According to the Western Conference standings, they are in ninth position. LAL would have qualified for the play-in tournament for the second straight year if the season ended today.
On January 19, Dinwiddie scored 19 points, provided four assists, and shot 5-of-11 overall, 4-of-8 from three, and 5-of-5 from the foul line against the Lakers. In Los Angeles, the Nets prevailed by a score of 18 points.
At the trade deadline, the Lakers made no transactions. Dejounte Murray, Bruce Brown, Dorian Finney-Smith, Royce O’Neale, and Andre Drummond were all connected to them.
If LeBron James rejects his Lakers player option for 2024–25, he will be free to sign with any team this summer. According to people who spoke with NBA Analysis Network, the King wanted Rob Pelinka and the front management to improve the team at the trade deadline.
