Lakers News: Darvin Ham sanctioned for poor Handling Of LA Role Player Injuries
The Los Angeles Lakers season has been filled with ups and downs so far, in part due to all the injuries that the team has seen. It has caused issues on the floor, and seen LA have to play with almost half of their roster missing at times.
The team hopes that they will get the majority of their injured players back sooner rather than later, but until then, they are pushing through. Head coach Darvin Ham provided some insight into how the Lakers are dealing with all of the absences.
“You have to see the glass half full always. I rather this would happen now with some of our guys as opposed to late March, April, going into that money time. So you just have to weather the storm,” Lakers coach Darvin Ham said pregame.
The Lakers took on the Cleveland Cavaliers on Saturday night with about half of their team missing due to injury. But they found a way to come together and they pulled off one of the biggest wins of the season.
Luckily for LA, their star players, LeBron James and Anthony Davis, haven’t been the ones injured, so they have been able to hold down the fort. Plus, the way that the team built their roster around strong depth has also allowed them to maintain themselves through these tough times.
“The plan for our team that we put together and tried to execute this summer, you know, is coming to fruition, and we’re needing these pieces, being deep at every position, allows you a chance to weather all of this, to try to get through at a high level, the highest level possible.”
The Lakers will continue to battle their way through it all until reinforcements can arrive. They know what is at stake this season, and they want to keep themselves afloat in the Western Conference standings race.
