It’s obvious that Jurgen Klopp is making plans for the future now that the 29-year-old Liverpool player has left.
About the last eighteen months, Jurgen Klopp has completely redesigned his Liverpool squad.
After experiencing such success with essentially the same core of players from 2017–18, things have begun to shift.
Sadio Mane, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Divock Origi, Jordan Henderson, James Milner, Naby Keita, and Roberto Firmino have all left since the summer of 2022.
As Liverpool 2.0 takes shape, some bright, young newcomers have taken their spots. The myths of the future are already taking shape. But some familiar faces are still there among the new ones.
However, based on reports that surfaced this week, Andy Robertson, one of those, might be set to retire soon.
First, Wolves left-back Rayan Ait-Nouri is reportedly a target for Liverpool, according to sources from France yesterday. There have been rumours today 90min that Alphonso Davies of Bayern Munich is being watched. Robbo doesn’t think it looks well.
Liverpool is considering left-backs.
It has to be noted that the connections to Ait-Nouri and Davies reflect two quite distinct things.
Robertson would still like his chances of being selected first if Ait-Nouri were to be included. The Scottish player has been with Liverpool for more than six years, although he won’t be thirty until March.
Even though Robertson is recovering from an injury right now, he doesn’t miss much action. Theoretically, his physique is in excellent form.
Ait-Nouri wouldn’t replace him right soon, and he doesn’t need to. He’s only 22 and has performed well at Wolves, but he hasn’t exactly made waves. He reminds me a lot of Robertson just before he moved from Hull City to Liverpool.

In any case, the Algerian would be signed to take the captaincy from Scotland, even though he could need some time to settle into the position.
Davies, on the other hand, would basically be a straight trade. Once more, it’s not like Robertson truly needs to be replaced, but you have to try to sign the Canadian player if he becomes available.
Right now, it appears that the 23-year-old is the favourite to sign with Real Madrid. But Robertson’s job would be in jeopardy right away if Liverpool managed to push in.
In any case, it appears from the stories that Robbo’s clock is running out. All of these fantastic Reds players will eventually be replaced, and each one will hurt more than the previous. Although there is no indication that Andy is moving on or anything of the sort, it’s possible that Klopp is beginning to recognise that Robbo’s legacy must continue.
