Alexis Mac Allister was shocked by Darwin Nunez’s on-camera response regarding Liverpool today.
Since Nunez moved to Mac Allister from Brighton throughout the summer, the two had grown very close. They spend a lot of time together, with Alexis translating for Darwin as Jurgen Klopp does.
But it appears like they may spend a portion of that time learning obscure Liverpool trivia. As shown in today’s Reds official channel TikTok, the two may be little more knowledgeable about the team they currently play for.
Both Mac Allister and Nunez performed a little poorly in a task where they were asked rapid-fire questions about Liverpool and put up against each other.
Darwin might have the worst moment of all time. The 24-year-old gave a confident response when asked how many Champions League championships the Reds have won.
“Tres!” he said, gesturing with three fingers. Mac Allister scowled and said, “No, no, no, no, no.” The Argentine’s perfectly timed face-palm encapsulated the atmosphere. Get well, Darwin!
It’s homework time
Here, Mac Allister is not entirely exonerated. The former Brighton player said that Liverpool had only won one league title when asked. One single league victory.
Nunez laughs with pleasure when informed that the real number is 19.
“You said one!” chuckles No. 9 for Liverpool. “One plus eighteen is nineteen,” contends Mac Allister. “I believe it was a single [title] since it was named the Premier League.”
To be fair, he is entirely correct. For such, the Argentinean might even receive extra credit!
Darwin’s swiftly pile up, with both players required to carry one football in their arms for every incorrect question answered.
However, Mac Allister lost control of the balls as he misjudged Anfield’s new capacity. Nunez is pronounced the winner, his Reds partner still standing tall and confidently holding up what appears to be seven balls.
Darwin’s recovery is astounding. similar to a well-known Liverpool comeback from 2005. We wonder if any of you have heard of that one?
