Jonathan Robinson, a Liverpool opponent analyst, has joined Steven Gerrard’s Al Ettifaq.
Following his summertime appointment as manager of the Saudi Pro League team, Gerrard has been responsible for the hiring of several players and staff members who were previously affiliated with his old team.
Of these, captain Jordan Henderson’s shocking switch was undoubtedly the most well-known, but there have also been a number of other unseen backroom personnel appointments.
And Robinson is the most recent of these, according to Al Ettifaq on X. The Dammam team welcomed the 31-year-old to their team on social media on Monday.
The analyst bid Liverpool a heartfelt farewell in a post made on his personal X account yesterday.

Gerrard makes the Liverpool link matter
Even if Gerrard is trying his hardest to assemble a group of players with elite level expertise around him, it isn’t really working out just yet.
It must be acknowledged that Al Ettifaq were probably not anticipated to challenge at the top of the Pro League this season. They are not one of the sides supported by the government, despite the supposedly huge salaries being offered to players like Henderson and Gerrard.
They thus lack the money to spend lavishly on big-name players like Riayd Mahrez, Karim Benzema, or Neymar.
Even yet, Stevie should be performing marginally better than their current seventh spot since Al Ettifaq did push the boat out during the summer.
Their last two games have ended in 0-0 ties, and things may be going better given reports of small attendance at games.
Gerrard is hoping that Robinson’s presence will help things go back in his favour.
It should be mentioned, nevertheless, that the analyst has primarily worked with Liverpool’s youth teams and lacks familiarity with first-team matters.
That being said, it is nevertheless unfortunate to see someone leave Liverpool to accompany Gerrard in the Middle East. Still, our warmest wishes are with Jonathan.
