Liverpool’s 3-0 victory over Brentford increased their tally in the Premier League standings to 27 points, level with Arsenal, who defeated Burnley 3-1 on Saturday, and just behind Manchester City at the top f the table, who played Chelsea on Sunday.
The Reds enter the international break at the top three of the table, having surpassed Tottenham on Saturday, who dropped to fourth place, one point outside of the top three, after losing 2-1 to Wolverhampton last week. The Reds bounced back having previously drawn 1-1 at Luton. Egypt’s Mohamed Salah was the star of the show at Anfield, scoring twice in the 39th and 62nd minutes to increase his total to 10 goals in 12 Premier League matches this year.
Diogo Jota of Portugal scored the third goal in the 74th minute, which was significant because it improved Liverpool’s goal differential from +17 to +16 and put them at second ahead of Arsenal at third, both a point behind City, after their trip to Stamford Bridge end draw.

The Premier League leaders will square off in their first meeting on November 25 at the Etihad following the international break. However, the second half of the season matchup on March 9 at Anfield will take place with the Anfield Stand constructed.
