Crazy Announcement Made by Former Green Bay Packers Quarterback Before Sunday Night Football
The announcement was originally published for our website by Paolo Songco of Wisconsin Sports Heroics:
In an interview with Melissa Stark of the NFL Network on Sunday, Rodgers stated that he plans to return by the middle of December:
According to him, “I know it sounds crazy, but if you do a good surgery and have a good patient, it makes this possible” (via Twitter user Ari Merov).
Ever since Rodgers stated he had every intention of playing again this season, his comeback has gained steam. The four-time All-Pro quarterback not only dispelled all question that his torn Achilles would terminate his career, but he also destroyed any notion of a recovery period for an injury of this magnitude.
Fans of the Packers are shocked that Aaron Rodgers is attempting to return in mid-December.
In addition to thinking Rodgers would miss the entire season due to his torn Achilles injury, many people also doubted if he would be able to continue playing football. Many fans were surprised, to put it mildly, to learn that he plans to return well before the season is out:
No way, dude

I firmly believe in the conspiracy theory; he isn’t harmed; they simply don’t want to provide the FRP as there’s no chance he’ll recover that quickly, right? Correct?

Reactions ranged from crazy accusations to conspiracy theories suggesting he was never seriously hurt. Some even claimed he was given “super serum.” Cam Akers established the initial benchmark for Achilles strains. Just five and a half months after sustaining an injury during training camp in July, Akers was back on the pitch for the Rams. During the course of four games, he ran 72 times for Los Angeles during their Super Bowl 56 campaign.
If Rodgers returned by December, that timeline would be shattered.
