After losing to Toulouse, one of Klopp’s top players harshly criticised the coach
The path is challenging but not insurmountable.
Many people were excited by the Reds’ fantastic start to the season, but the team has struggled at times and ended up losing. Although this hasn’t been a problem thus far, it changed after the loss to Toulouse, raising questions about certain players who might not get another chance to perform at Anfield.
Numerous individuals held the belief that Liverpool would dominate the Europa League and emerge victorious, given their past performance. They felt that their name and legacy would make them the favourites to win the cup. However, Klopp understands that every game matters and that you have to give it your all to win.
The fact that the Reds lost to Toulouse further emphasises how difficult the competition is. While poor officiating contributed to the score by disallowing a goal that would have given the Reds an equaliser, Klopp’s earlier comments that the Reds would not easily win the competition remain true. Roberto Firmino, the Brazilian killer who was unquestionably a big star at the Reds where he scored a lot of goals, has already come under heavy fire for the loss. The Brazilian claimed that it was easier to take Bobby off the pitch when a substitution was necessary than to bother either Mane or Salah. “Everyone, including the other players, knew that’s how it worked.”
What about Firmino’s statement
While both Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane were crucial to Liverpool’s smooth operation, this statement raises a number of questions about the team’s management style. It also appears that they may have certain preferences for particular players, which may be understandable. Nevertheless, this controversy has further tarnished Klopp’s reputation following the loss.
