Liverpool is putting their trust in Stefan Bajcetic and does not want to buy a defensive midfield player in the new year.
Talk about the Reds’ need for a natural holding midfielder has been prevalent since the start of the campaign.
There have been strong parallels drawn between this and Andre Trindade of Fluminense. Jurgen Klopp, nevertheless, is reportedly going to reject suggestions to add a fresh, specialised player in January, according to Liverpool ECHO.
Rather, ‘Liverpool sources’ allegedly believe the manager is attempting to make room for 19-year-old Bajcetic.
Apparently “keen not to block the path” of young Stefan, Anfield officials will not sign Andre or anybody else during the winter transfer window.
Liverpool trusted Bajcetic.
To be fair, there isn’t much room for disagreement with this position—though plenty will.
The truth is that Liverpool fans would have realised they didn’t need another addition if Bajcetic had been healthy the entire season.
Reds supporters just think a new player needs to be added because the Spaniard hasn’t played much since March.
It may seem excessive to place all of that on Bajcetic. However, recalling the former Celta Vigo star’s tenure on the squad during the previous campaign makes it evident that he had the makings of a unique talent.
Bajcetic was recently described by Klopp as “incredible,” so it’s clear that he and the Liverpool coaches believe they have uncovered a jewel.

Who are we to disagree if that is Jurgen’s opinion? Once more, everything we’ve seen of Stefan points to the possibility that, very soon, he could start for Liverpool.
He will undoubtedly demonstrate that once more after waking up from his nightmarish injury.
The team already has seven senior midfield players, so adding one more would just lessen the likelihood that Bajcetic would have that kind of influence.
Long-term, this is a wise move for both Liverpool and Bajcetic. Granted, he hasn’t been able to demonstrate it this season and might require some time to catch up when he returns.
