Justin Fields “getting better,” but the Bears’ medical staff hasn’t cleared him
While Justin Fields is “getting better,” the Bears’ medical staff has not given him the all-clear.
Though coach Matt Eberflus declared quarterback Justin Fields of the Bears out on Wednesday, the player is labelled as unlikely to play on Thursday Night Football.
As Fields’ dislocated thumb heals, Tyson Bagent will start for the fourth time in a row.
Despite ruling Fields out later in his news conference, Eberflus attempted to justify the Bears’ decision.
According to ESPN’s Courtney Cronin, Eberflus stated, “We’ve got to give him one more day.” Let him have one more day. We’ll see where it goes, though, as he’s putting in a lot of effort and things are improving every day.
Eberflus continued by saying that Fields, who was listed as limited in practise this week, had not been cleared by the Bears medical staff. Fields “may” work out before the game at Soldier Field.
According to Eberflus, Fields is “getting close.”
The accuracy is rising. His throwing has improved. And he’s beginning to accomplish an increasing amount of things,” Eberflus remarked.
It appears that Fields will play against the Lions in Week 11 following a mini-bye week.
