After departing the team in the summer, Liverpool great Roberto Firmino has extolled the virtues of Anfield.
Nearly six months have passed since Firmino’s final experience playing at Liverpool’s storied home field. Without him, the place just doesn’t feel the same.
It soon became apparent that the Brazilian had developed a very unique bond with the Reds supporters at the stadium throughout his tenure with the team. Firmino wrote a new book on his time at Liverpool because it was such a memorable moment for him there. Fans of the Reds will be pining for Bobby after reading this piece from The Daily Mail, which will be available in stores tomorrow.
“No place compares to home.” And I will always consider Anfield to be home,” the 32-year-old adds. “There are other football fields, but Anfield stands alone. There are plenty of fervent, devoted, boisterous fan bases. There’s passion wherever there’s football. However, I can assure you that things are different at Anfield.
Firmino continues by describing the comments made by his compatriots who play for opposing teams when they visit the renowned stadium.
“Hear me out, my Brazilian friends and competitors from other clubs. He exclaims, “They always told me how hard it is to play at Anfield.” “Hard for them, but a gift for us.” I always felt loved at Anfield, in good times and bad. They never wanted me to leave the special place I always had.
Bobby reflects on his time at Anfield
Firmino is entirely correct: Anfield will always feel like home to him.
For football fans, players come and go; that’s just how the game is. However, some really make an impression and end up being almost like family to an entire fandom.
For Liverpool fans, Bobby was one of those players.
Perhaps not the most well-known player from the Jurgen Klopp era is him. He was surpassed by others in goals scored, assists, and personal accolades received.

However, none was loved by the Kop as well as Firmino was and still is.
The Brazilian will receive a tremendous welcome back at Anfield if and when he decides to return, which is hopefully soon.
This club honours its heroes always. And even though Bobby is no longer with us, his accomplishments have already become legendary.
Naturally, the Brazilians that came to Anfield had a difficult time. In the last three and a half years, Liverpool has only lost one Premier League match at the stadium. Going there is not a simple task!
