The 22 Liverpool players that are travelling to France for their Europa League match against Toulouse have been confirmed, and captain Virgil van Dijk will not be playing tonight.
For their fourth match of the Europa League season, the Reds are headed to France with the goal of winning four straight and advancing to the knockout stages.
Ryan Gravenberch’s absence from Jurgen Klopp’s open training earlier on Wednesday raised fresh concerns, and it is now official that the Dutchman will miss it.
Eight senior players, including Curtis Jones and Van Dijk, are not travelling. Jones’s injury prevented him from playing in the 1-1 draw against Luton, and Gravenberch is one of them.
Long-term absentees Andy Robertson, Adrian, and Stefan Bajcetic are not eligible, while Conor Bradley will not be risked even though he has returned to training.
With expectations that his father in Colombia will soon be released, Luis Diaz has joined the gang.
Some players have also travelled, including Alisson, Mohamed Salah, and Dominik Szoboszlai, but they are not anticipated to begin on Thursday night.
Rather, Klopp is expected to implement the alterations, which will include the addition of Cody Gakpo, Harvey Elliott, Joel Matip, Wataru Endo, Caoimhin Kelleher, and Jarell Quansah.
In addition, Alexis Mac Allister is scheduled to start, as he gets ready to miss this weekend’s Premier League matchup against Brentford owing to suspension.
Ben Doak is healthy and might replace Salah on the right wing, but Diaz’s inclusion will need to be decided.
Darwin Nunez or Diogo Jota are likely to enter if Diaz is not prepared to begin.
