Oscar de Marcos, a defender for Athletic Club, has urged Nico Williams to stay with the team in light of rumours that Liverpool is interested in the attacker.
The right-back begged the attacker to stay in Bilbao in an interview with Mundo Deportivo, despite recent rumours that teams like Liverpool are interested in signing Williams.
Williams is one of Europe’s most promising attacking prospects, valued at £43 million. Liverpool hopes to sign him in 2024.
De Marcos wants Williams to stay with the La Liga team despite the fact that the 21-year-old’s timing is probably appropriate to leave Athletic. This is because of Williams’ talent and potential.
When asked about Williams’ possible departure in the face of Liverpool’s interest, De Marcos responded, “For us, he is an important player because he has that ability to imbalance (defenders).”
We would benefit if he remained here. I hope and trust that it will be that way. For the benefit of Athletic, I would adore it.
Nico Williams might be persuaded to join Liverpool

Despite pleadings from teammates, Williams is obviously eager to leave Athletic, and Liverpool would be a great fit for the striker in 2024.
In the event that Mohamed Salah completes his anticipated summer transfer to Saudi Arabia, Liverpool will need to find a new attacker.
Williams may also be a viable substitute, but if the Spanish international wants to succeed Salah at Anfield the next season, he will need to put in some effort with Jurgen Klopp on the training pitch.
