Chase Young Is Happy to Be a 49ers Player: “I’m in a Building With Winners”
Even though the 49ers didn’t play this past week, they still managed to win.
In the narrative:
Even though the 49ers didn’t play this past week, they still managed to win.
Pass rusher Chase Young, who the 49ers acquired from the Commanders for a third-round pick, was the reason for that victory. Young had his first appearance in front of the media on Monday, where he discussed his feelings about getting traded to the 49ers.
After saying, “I wasn’t mad,” Young laughed. “Even at Ohio State, Nick (Bosa), who is present, has always been like a big brother to me. It’s a completely different culture and atmosphere from when I first came here last week. I am undoubtedly aware that I am in a winning building.”
Young is yet another well-known member of the 49ers’ Commanders roster. Trent Williams, a left tackle, came before him. It’s interesting to hear how happy both guys were to be traded to the 49ers. Aside from being reunited with Bosa, one of the reasons Young loves it is that he is finally on a team that can give him postseason contention and Super Bowl dreams.
Young remarked, “It’s definitely exciting.” It encourages me even more to put in my best effort and treat every performance as if it were my last.
Changes of scenery can have positive effects, particularly when they provide a positive outlook. The Commanders were a relatively ordinary team with no prospects for long-term success. But the 49ers give him a fresh sense of hope that he never had with the Commanders. And for Young, it’s a breath of fresh air, even though the 49ers are on a three game losing streak.
His influence ought to be noticeable right away in the 49ers’ next encounter with the Jaguars.
