LUTON, UNITED KINGDOM: Following Luis Diaz’s goal on his first game since his parents were abducted, Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker claimed that the Colombian may find a “slice of joy” when playing.
After being captured by a Colombian guerilla organisation on October 28, Diaz’s mother was saved within hours, but his father Luis Manuel Diaz is still missing.

“It says a lot about his character, his strength, not many people imagine what he is going through,” Alisson stated to Sky Sports.
“We understand his pain and are there to assist him, but it’s on a different level for him.
“There are times when a game of football can cheer you up. Lucho is enjoying a little happiness right now because of football.
“He arrived, warmed up, played, and won us a wonderful goal. We are at his side.”
Alisson, a Brazilian athlete, experienced his own sorrow in February 2021 when his father passed away in a swimming mishap.
He added that he was aware of the release that comes from playing from personal experience.
“Football never fails to positively amaze us. That was while I was going through a tough time.
“When you are on the pitch you are focused on doing the job.”
