Erling Haaland should be well enough to play for Manchester City against Liverpool later this month, according to Pep Guardiola.
Speaking to ESPN following the Norwegian star’s halftime substitution during City’s 6-1 victory against AFC Bournemouth this past weekend, Guardiola stated that Haaland’s injury was not too significant.
“There was a twist in the ankle,” stated Guardiola. We were unwilling to take chances with him. He didn’t feel at ease. He may return on Tuesday, but he may not return until Sunday.
After scoring a record-breaking 13 goals in all competitions last year, Haaland’s goal-scoring antics have not subsided in the slightest.
Furthermore, it appears from Guardiola’s remarks that Haaland will now be ready to play against Liverpool, a possibility that Jurgen Klopp’s team will not want to confront.
Liverpool’s defence must perform at its highest level to stop Haaland in this match, which is already being labelled as a potential title decider in the Premier League.
Liverpool will hope Haaland isn’t available for Premier League clash

Since joining City last year, Haaland has turned into the Premier League’s worst nightmare. Liverpool will be silently hoping that the striker is still sidelined come their match later this month.
Given how vulnerable Liverpool’s defence has been at times this season, the Reds will need to use every option at their disposal to defeat City, with Haaland’s injury ruling out any number of options.
If the striker is fit, Liverpool’s defence also has to be at its best since some of its performances this season have left a lot to be desired.
