During Friday’s training session, Alexis Mac Allister’s shooting left Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp in awe.
Mac Allister hasn’t had many opportunities to score in his brief time at Liverpool, to date. The former Brighton player, who spends most of his time on the pitch as a holding midfielder, has other duties.
But as evidenced by a video posted on Liverpool’s official Twitter account yesterday, Macca is more than capable of hitting them.
During a shooting session, the Argentine was under some pressure to find the net with Klopp watching on. The Reds manager, positioned on the edge of the box, encouraged him.
Jurgen remarked, “Alexis, finish it now,” and then responded to Mac Allister’s first touch with a “yes, nice.”
Klopp is seen yelling with excitement as the 24-year-old bends a magnificent strike into the far top corner. Boss, play him forward more!
Mac Allister displays his attacking ability
There’s no denying that playing Mac Allister as Liverpool’s No. 6 is a wise decision in the long run.
Although he is by no means an expert, the World Cup winner has in fact played there previously in his career. This brief assignment will teach him a great deal, which will benefit the Reds and him in the long run.
It may be argued that Mac Allister is ideally suited for the part due to certain aspects of his game.
He appears to pick things up quickly, has outstanding ball retention, and passes the ball with finesse and cleverness. Having previously been bypassed rather frequently, Macca is now considerably more careful about when he engages in a tackle. Game by game, his timing and overall positioning are getting better.

That illustrates how skillful Liverpool’s No. 10 is as a player and is undoubtedly one of the reasons Klopp has come to love him so rapidly.
However, as this video shows, Mac Allister is capable of so much more for Liverpool.
Although he isn’t exactly a prolific goal scorer, he did score more than ten goals in the Premier League the previous year. It must be acknowledged that penalties were weighed significantly, but the Argentina international obviously has goals in his arsenal.
In the event that Liverpool acquires a player to assume the deep-lying role, that should eventually be witnessed at Anfield. It was evident to Jurgen yesterday that Alexis had a shot at him.
