The Colombian is still dealing with a challenging issue.
The news that has affected Colombians the most is the kidnapping of Luis Díaz’s parents. Many facets of the public have come out in favour of the guajiro, and they want to see his father rescued as soon as possible. Luis Díaz’s mother and father were abducted this Saturday, October 28, in the afternoon. A few hours later, Cilenis Marulanda was released, but the player’s father is still being held captive. The forward’s parents were allegedly being driven by four men on motorcycles when they passed them.
It was discovered afterwards that their freedom had been taken away from them. Over the past few hours, the authorities have established that the ELN is the group that kidnapped Luis Manuel Díaz. They called for the father of the Colombian National Team member to be released immediately in a statement that they released.
In the ongoing evolution of the peace process, “we remind the ELN that kidnapping is a criminal practise that violates International Humanitarian Law and that it is their duty, not only to stop carrying out but also to eliminate it forever,” the statement states. Amidst the depressing circumstances the Díaz family is facing, Liverpool coach Jürgen Klopp has also discussed the significance of learning what was going on with Luis Díaz for the squad.
Luis Díaz is unable to play
Luis Díaz was called up by Liverpool to play Nottingham on Sunday, October 29, but he was later taken off the list because of the well known family emergency. Diego Jota dedicated his goal in the game to the guajiro. Furthermore, based on many rumours, Luis Díaz will not be included in the team matchup plans for a while, as he has been give timeoff due to his father’s abduction meaning that Diogo Jota, a Portuguese player, would start in the attack alongside Darwin Núñez and Mohamed Salah.
