The potential of injured Liverpool rookie Stefan Bajcetic has been lauded by manager Jurgen Klopp.
Bajcetic is sidelined once more due to what seems to be growing pains, having missed the last few months of the season.
Though it has been a difficult period for the 18-year-old, Klopp promised supporters that Bajcetic is still part of his future plans during his pre-Luton Town press conference today.
In response to a question on when Bajcetic will be fit again, the Reds manager stated, “We don’t know.” It’s just another one of these things with Stefan. Let me put it this way: Everyone could see Stefan’s quality, potential, and talent, and it is wonderful. What a teammate. However, the corpse wasn’t prepared yet. They are still growing these boys, that’s the way it is.
“All we need to do is apply the brake once more and bide our time until everything settles down. Only then will Liverpool FC own an exceptional player at their disposal. However, there isn’t even a time [period] to put that on, therefore we won’t. All we can do is wait.
“He’s here, working out, going about his business. We will succeed if we assist him in getting the body to demonstrate his talent, which we already know he is capable of doing three times a week.
Bajcetic perseverance goes on
Fortunately, Liverpool has a deep bench in midfield to cover for Bajcetic while he heals. Still, this is disheartening none the less.
It’s obvious that no one is at fault, and Klopp has every right to wait. Stefan should be allowed to stay as long as necessary rather than being hurried back too soon.
However, much as with Kyle Gordon the previous season, there is concern that Liverpool is losing out on a unique talent.
Since his last appearance over two years ago, Gordon has failed to play again for the first team. The young player has since faded from view and no longer appears to be a serious prospect for Klopp.

Bajcetic is hoping that the same thing doesn’t happen to him, but the longer he’s away, the more likely it is.
Jurgen highlights that the young Spaniard might become a true Liverpool star. At just 17 years old, he made his debut in the senior XI last year and didn’t look out of place.
Bajcetic then filled in wonderfully until an injury occurred as the Reds struggled in midfield over the course of the New Year.
Although more players have since been added, still fancy that Bajcetic would have been given minutes over the course of the season so far. We can only hope that he returns to the pitch soon.
