Brock Purdy started farming during a bye week in which San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan said he would not use a pitchfork or pitchfork during Purdy’s tenure as starting quarterback.
Purdy’s fiancee, Jenna Brandt, posted a video to Instagram of Purdy driving a tractor on her family’s Iowa farm.
Brandt and Purdy have been dating since they met in college in 2021, and they got engaged earlier this year.
“End of Harvest 23,” Brandt wrote on Instagram with Purdy, an Arizona native who played college football at Iowa State, where he met Brandt.
Even though she moved to Northern Iowa, that didn’t stop them from pursuing a relationship.
As for Purdy’s life on the football field, a three-game losing streak hasn’t stopped his chances of becoming a starting quarterback in the NFL.
Shanahan gave a resounding “no” during a Monday, Oct.
31 conference call with Purdy from the bench, according to Grant Cohn of Sports Illustrated’s All 49ers.
The coach added “because no one changes a quarterback for no reason” when Cohn pressed for more information.
Notably, San Francisco started Purdy in Week 8 against the Cincinnati Bengals after he cleared concussion protocol in a Week 7 loss to the Minnesota Vikings.
Purdy maintained the story of his early career throughout the first five weeks of the season before it got noisy.
He’s thrown nine touchdowns to no interceptions during a 5-0 start, but Purdy’s play has slipped in the last three games with just three touchdowns to five interceptions and fumbled once.
