Jurgen Klopp talks about his Man of the Match from last night’s Liverpool vs. Bournemouth game.
Jarell Quansah was named Man of the Match by Jurgen Klopp for Liverpool’s victory over Bournemouth in the Carabao Cup last night.
On just his fourth start for the Reds, Quansah was brilliant for Liverpool. The 20-year-old from the South Coast held her ground throughout stormy weather.
It’s the kind of performance we’ve already grown accustomed to from Quansah. And after the match, Klopp was eager to emphasize how much he thought of the center-back’s performance in an interview with LFCTV.
The Liverpool manager enquired, “Was there a Man of the Match tonight or we don’t have that?” The reporter said, “He was my Man of the Match.”
Klopp agreed, saying “mine too.” A truly fantastic game, whoa. I informed him that he was ecstatic about the game and that he loved it. focused, powerful in tackles, and quite adept in reading the game.
“Caoimh [Kelleher] was like, ‘Give it to him, let’s see what he can do.’ We gave him the ball a lot and he had to do a lot with it.” However, Bournemouth is also good; they may have encountered one or two challenging circumstances, but that’s common. Very, very excellent game.
Quansah excels once more.
Even though Quansah has only played seven games for Liverpool so far, high expectations are now placed on the young player.
The young player has already passed trials, such as a challenging away match against Wolves during his debut Premier League start. Nor were his first few minutes in St. James Park an easy ride.
But this was the hardest duty Quansah had yet faced, with the rain pouring down and the wind roaring.
Despite his usual calm demeanor, the center back didn’t appear to be bothered by Dean Court.
Joel Matip, who superbly guided his much younger teammate through the game, deserves a huge well done as well.
Caoimhin Kelleher also had a respectable game, despite maybe giving his defenders a bit too much of the ball when under duress.
But the real star of the show was Quansah. It’s amazing to see the academy graduate succeeding after so many requests for Liverpool to sign a center back this summer.
The task at hand is to continue working and resist the temptation to allow this kind of recognition get to his head. Jarell can achieve great heights provided he can maintain a grounded approach.
