Before tonight’s match, Dominik Szoboszlai delivers a stern message to the £15 million Bournemouth player.
Dominik Szoboszlai, a midfielder for Liverpool, has given a powerful message ahead of his team’s Carabao Cup match against Bournemouth tonight.
This evening, Szoboszlai appears to be scheduled for a rest; Klopp will probably start with a subpar squad against the Cherries.
However, based on what he said in an interview with the Hungarian publication Sportal, it appears like the 23-year-old intends to stay on the pitch for a while. When asked if he would be playing alongside fellow Hungarian international and Bournemouth defender Milos Kerkez, Szoboszlai gave the 19-year-old a very clear message.
The Reds No. 8 player says, “I want him to pray that I don’t play.” Whoa!
Szoboszlai issues a warning to Kerkez
Szoboszlai has gained the support of Liverpool supporters so rapidly for a variety of reasons. Among these is his unwavering faith in himself.
It may seem conceited to others, but Dom’s playful side is immediately apparent. All of this was done with great humour.
He does, however, firmly believe what he is saying. Szoboszlai is conscious of his abilities and understands that he can cause serious harm in any game he participates in.
The former RB Leipzig player is not surprised when he causes havoc on any opponent.
Regretfully, though, we don’t believe Szoboszlai will have the opportunity to humiliate his compatriot today against Bournemouth.
In the midfield, Klopp must choose between Ryan Gravenberch, Szobo, and Alexis Mac Allister, with one of them probably starting.
But Dom is the least likely to appear, having seen every minute of Premier League action thus far this season.
That appears to be something he will be disappointed in.
At least this season, Szoboszlai has already had the opportunity to face Kerkez. In August, when he made his Anfield debut against the Cherries and the £15.5 million left-back, he was outstanding.
Later in the season, when Liverpool returns to Dean Court, he will be someone to watch. But don’t be shocked if Szoboszlai does well tonight and walks with an extra bounce in his stride. Be careful, Milos!
