Liverpool’s interest in Max Eberl is said to have pleased him, but the sporting director is still set on joining Bayern Munich.
Bild claims that the German transfer mastermind, who exclusively has his sights set on securing a top position at Bayern, is “honoured” to be coveted by a team the size of the Reds.
The former representative of RB Leipzig is reportedly waiting for a call from the Bundesliga’s biggest teams, as Eberl is eager to take over at Bayern and oversee their transfer activities in spite of Liverpool’s interest.
In the summer of 2024, Eberl may have been the ideal addition for Liverpool, who have not yet chosen a sporting director.
Though Bayern hasn’t finalised a move for Eberl since his September departure from Leipzig, the German transfer guru appears to be sold on the Bayern concept.
As a matter of fact, Liverpool should abandon their efforts to acquire Eberl for Anfield, which they may have already done informally in light of recent claims.
The sooner Eberl is hired by Bayern the better for Liverpool
It makes sense that Liverpool would be interested in signing Eberl, as Jurgen Klopp is eager to bring on a German player given Jorg Schmadtke’s tremendous summertime success.
However, Liverpool would be better off moving on from the sporting director the sooner Bayern announce Eberl’s departure.
Liverpool isn’t simply limited to the former Leipzig player because there are other well-known players in the game; the Reds have the prestige to draw in almost any player.
