Now, Liverpool might have a “special” player available for tomorrow’s match against Bournemouth.
Ben Doak might be available for Liverpool’s League Cup match against AFC Bournemouth, according to Pep Lijnders’ hint.
After suffering a muscular injury earlier in the month, the Scottish youth international returned to full training this week, according to the assistant manager of Liverpool, who was speaking to the media.
Doak was not included in Jurgen Klopp’s matchday squad this weekend for the match against Nottingham Forest, and also missed last Thursday’s UEFA Europa League match against Toulouse.
But tomorrow against Bournemouth, the teenage winger might be back in the starting lineup. Doak is a strong candidate to take Mohamed Salah’s spot on the right side of the attack.
In fact, Liverpool would really benefit from the 17-year-old playing for the trip to the south coast, and Lijnders has now confirmed that Doak is back in training.
In response to a question regarding Doak’s fitness, the Dutch coach stated, “Ben Doak trained yesterday for the first time (since his injury).” Does he play for the team? We’ll find out.
It will be huge if Doak plays for Liverpool against Bournemouth again.
Doak is without a doubt Liverpool’s most promising young prospect, thus it would be devastating for the Scottish kid if the winger missed any more games due to injury.
The club and coaches are obviously huge supporters of the adolescent attacker, who Jurgen Klopp called “special.” Doak will be hoping he is well enough to make the trip down to the south coast tomorrow night.
Doak would consider even a few minutes off the bench to be a significant accomplishment, and he will want to show off his skills in the League Cup against Premier League opponents.
