Fans of Liverpool attack Vincent Kompany’s remarks following his Luis Diaz VAR incident, saying “move on.”
Liverpool supporters have taken issue with Burnley manager Vincent Kompany’s remarks over the late VAR call that went against his team this past weekend.
Though Kompany’s team was defeated 2-1 by AFC Bournemouth on Saturday, there were two moments of outrage: Jay Rodriguez was called just offside aduring a protracted check, and a late handball went unchecked.
He made comments following the game in a number of TV appearances and at his press conference, comparing the officials’ method to “going to the casino and putting all your chips on black or red’.
He had previously made comments regarding Liverpool’s controversially disallowed goal against Tottenham, which caused the PGMOL to offer an apology after Jurgen Klopp’s team lost in the 96th minute.
The opportunity to voice their opinions about the choice was extended to managers throughout the league, but Kompany was cited as saying: “They’re doing the best they can and we all obviously make mistakes.”
That’s the claim that Liverpool supporters have made quickly in response to his remarks regarding his team’s VAR problems this past weekend. Supporters generally seem to agree that management are all for shielding the officials—until a contentious choice goes against them, at which point the tone of the reactions changes significantly.
