In the midst of the search for his father, Diaz of Liverpool has been advised not to go back to Colombia.
After being abducted over the weekend, the father of Liverpool forward Luis Diaz is still missing. The Colombian military is currently conducting a search and rescue operation in an effort to locate him.
A warning has been issued to Luis Diaz not to go to Colombia while the military looks for his father, who was abducted.
Those close to the Liverpool striker’s family claim that the 26-year-old was informed it was for his safety. On Saturday, his parents were abducted from their Barrancas residence at gunpoint.
While the couple was filling up their truck with gas, criminals on motorcycles took control of the vehicle and fled it towards the northern mountains. Later on, Cilenis Marulanda, his mother, was saved.
Although no criminal group has claimed responsibility as of yet, ministers stated that they hope to prevent the gang from entering Venezuela since they are concerned they may be attempting to cross the border. Journalist Jose Hugo Illera was informed by a family friend Victor Medina that Luis’s brother Gabriel was in charge of the search. According to Mr. Illera, Luis had received advice not to travel from his family and the authorities.
The national police force’s William Rene Salamanca Ramirez said on Sunday that he had spoken over the phone with the concerned football player. A reward of £40,000 is offered.
Francisco Barbosa, Colombia’s attorney general, stated on Monday that he thought Diaz’s father might have already been sent to Venezuela.”We have information that he could be in Venezuela at some point,” he said to reporters.
“If he ends up crossing the border and he’s in Venezuela, we have to ask [Colombia] President Gustavo Petro… to help us with freeing Luis Diaz’s father.”
Now that communication has been established with Venezuelan officials, additional soldiers will be sent to man the border.
The football association of Colombia has also appealed to the people who took Diaz’s father hostage. In a statement, they requested that Luis Manuel Diaz, the father of Luis F. Diaz, be released immediately and without any restrictions. “Peace is in football. We’re with you, Luis. Colombia is on your side.
