Sadio Mane, a professional football player from Senegal, has apparently acquired Bourges Foot 18, a fourth-division French team.
According to information obtained by Naija News, Mane had been giving the club financial support in order to help with recruitment, but he would now be completely involved after receiving Yann Galut, the city’s mayor,’s approval.
According to reports, the 31-year-old has finalized the deal while he is playing for Al Nassr, a Saudi Arabia Pro Club.
On Wednesday, Mane posted a video clip to the internet confirming the purchase and stating, “We’ve been working with the city for the past three years.” Our role is to oversee and manage the club. Though it is a great task, I am sure we can succeed provided the Bourges community stays engaged. I think I’ll be going to Bourges shortly.
The club, which is based in central France 250 kilometers from Paris, claims to Mirror that it has never competed above the French second division (as Bourges 18).
The team is presently ranked second from the bottom in Championnat National Group B. They were just established two years ago as a result of the union of two local clubs.
The league is composed of both professional clubs, like Toulouse and Angers, and amateur teams that play reserve games.
